Born in Yokohama, Japan, I was one of those quiet extrovert kids (I loved being around people, but I didn’t like talking very much & enjoyed listening to people talk) that loved to express herself through drawing or something creative…while eating sweets! Well, some things never change.
It all started when I moved to the U.S. Even though I have a sweet tooth, I found dessert here in the U.S are often too sweet, and very different compared to Japanese desserts. I began creating a Japanese style dessert that would appeal to the American palate.
With a degree in Fine Art, I love marrying art and dessert together. I believe dessert should look as beautiful as it tastes, especially on special occasions!
My favorite part of baking is connecting with each clients. I enjoy getting to know their needs, likes, and even a story behind the order. I am very much a people person and cherish every encounter through my edible creations! That’s probably one of the biggest reasons why I focus on custom designed desserts.
